Standard SWOT assumes a single perspective — whoever fills in the grid. But every quadrant looks completely different depending on the developmental altitude of the observer. And altitude is not a nice-to-have philosophical overlay. It is the primary determinant of what you can see, what you value, what you fear, and what strategies you can even conceive.

Consider Strengths. At Red (power-driven), strength means dominance — the ability to intimidate and control. At Blue (order-driven), strength means structure — reliable processes, clear hierarchies. At Orange (achievement-driven), strength means competitive advantage — efficiency, scalable systems. At Green (pluralistic), strength means relational capacity — inclusivity, values alignment. At Yellow (systemic/integral), strength means adaptive intelligence — pattern recognition, comfort with paradox. At Turquoise (holistic), strength means evolutionary resonance — being so attuned that your presence catalyzes growth in everything you touch.

The same analysis holds for Weaknesses. What Orange calls a weakness — "we're too slow to decide because we include too many voices" — Green calls a strength. What Green calls a weakness — "we're too focused on profit" — Orange calls a strength. Most SWOT conflicts within organizations are actually altitude conflicts disguised as strategic disagreements.

Luminous SWOT makes this visible. It asks: At what developmental stage are we assessing each quadrant? And what would shift if we looked from one altitude higher?
